Bats Need Agave

Agaves are an essential source of food and habitat for several migratory bat species. An increased demand for tequila and mezcal means that agaves are often harvested before they bloom, leaving bats hungry. Bat Conservation International is leading a new initiative to sustainably feed bats and restore their natural habitat of wild agave.

Donate now to help Bat Conservation International feed endangered bats and restore their natural habitats.

Bracken Cave 2018 Schedule

Bracken Cave is the summer home of more than 15 million Mexican free-tailed bats (Tadarida brasiliensis), making it the world's largest bat colony and one of the largest concentration of mammals on earth. The emergence of these millions of bats, as they spiral out of the cave at dusk for their nightly insect hunt, is an unforgettable sight.
