  • Why should I become a member?

    Bat Conservation International (BCI) has been a leader in the conservation of bats and their ecosystems for more than 30 years. To be on the front lines of bat conservation takes considerable resources. When you join BCI, you provide critical, ongoing investment in proven, research-based solutions in preventing bat extinctions, such as protecting and restoring bat habitats, conducting field research to find solutions to the most critical threats, and training the future generation of field experts in bat conservation.

    As a member, you also have access to member-only benefits:

    • Free subscription to our award-winning BATS magazine, published three times a year
    • Updates on our conservation efforts in our monthly e-newsletter
    • Exclusive invitation for you and a select number of guests to attend a Bracken Cave Preserve Bat Flight (limit one bat flight per season)
      • Members supporting BCI with a $45 annual membership and those who have added an annual membership to an adopt-a-bat may bring up to 3 guests**.
      • Members supporting BCI monthly or with a $60 or more annual membership may bring up to 5 guests**.

    • How do I schedule a visit to Bracken Cave Preserve?

      Members have the opportunity to attend a bat flight at Bracken Cave Preserve during the bat flight season (mid-May – mid-September).  Details on scheduling a visit are available at batcon.org/membernights. Limit one member bat flight per season. Please note that we cannot guarantee a visit to every member due to their extreme popularity.

      • Members supporting BCI with a $45 annual membership and those who have added an annual membership to an adopt-a-bat may bring up to 3 guests*.

    • How do I change the credit card or bank I use for my monthly membership or auto-renewal membership?

      To change your credit card or bank information for your automatically renewing or monthly membership, please email membership@batcon.org so we can contact you for the updated information.
