Each Friday evening from March through the first week in November, the Houston Area Bat Team provides a bat chat at the Waugh Bridge Bat Colony.
The Waugh Bridge Bat Colony is a maternity of some 250,000 to 300,000 Mexican Freetailed Bats.
Bat Team members consist of volunteers from various organizations including the Gulf Coast and Heartwood Chapters of Texas Master Naturalists, Baytown Nature Center, Texas Parks & Wildlife, and others.
