Jul 21, 6pm CT – What’s that sound?  Acoustics of the bats near you.

Nearly 80% of bat species use echolocation to hunt, avoid obstacles, and to communicate, and each bat species has its own distinct call.  Conservation Research Program Manager Amanda Adams, Ph.D. will guide you through the acoustics of the bats living in your area, discuss how and why scientists are monitoring the air for these soundwaves, and show how you can ‘listen’ for bats at home.
