In an attempt to set a world record for the “most bat houses built in one day,” the Bat Week team has rallied bat enthusiasts from all parts of North America. During the event, which will take place on Halloween, Oct. 31, as part of Bat Week (Oct. 25–31), participants will aim to build a record 5,000 bat houses across the U.S. and Canada.Bat Week is an annual, international block of programs and media appearances designed to raise awareness for bat conservation worldwide. The team that organizes Bat Week includes Bat Conservation International, U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Organization for Bat Conservation, Wildlife Acoustics, Lubee Bat Conservancy and the Save Lucy Campaign.
