Oklahoma is No Longer ‘Suspect’ for WNS

The fungus that causes White-nose Syndrome was confirmed in an Oklahoma cave in 2010, marking the westernmost occurrence of this devastating pathogen. But improved testing procedures now find that the original diagnosis was in error – neither WNS nor the fungus has reached Oklahoma. And the cave myotis (Myotis velifer) is being removed from the list of affected species.
