BCI Member Featured in National Geographic Special

Long-time BCI member Sue Barnard will appear in "Keepers of the Wild," a new National Geographic television special scheduled to air in the United States on February 17, 1993.

Sue Barnard is lead keeper in Zoo Atlanta's herpetology department, but many BCI members are more familiar with her through her bat rehabilitation program and educational work. Sue's work with bats began in 1982 when she was presented with seven orphaned baby bats. It was the beginning of her education in bats and her nationally recognized expertise today in raising orphaned insectivorous baby bats.

The one-hour program, which will also feature others who do unusual work with animals and their conservation, will highlight Sue's special work with bats. The air date may vary from region to region. Check your local listings for time and channel.
