Action Plan for the Conservation of the Bats of Ecuador

BCI is proud to congratulate our partners in Ecuador for launching the country’s first Action Plan for the Conservation of the Bats of Ecuador.

Written by the Program for the Conservation of the Bats of Ecuador (PCME) in partnership with the Ecuadorian Ministry of the Environment, this is only the second such national plan in all of Latin America.

BCI applauds the plan’s primary authors for their extensive work, and we stand ready to partner with all stakeholders to forge a successful path forward by implementing the plan’s recommendations.

We believe this plan of action will be a light to guide natural resource managers, government agencies, researchers, conservationists and educators for decades to come, and that it will help lead Ecuador toward achieving a society in which bats and people live in harmony.
