Good news – The Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment announces a fully-funded PhD scholarship to undertake a project on the ecology and conservation of the Christmas Island Flying Fox (CIFF).

The PhD candidate’s work will be part of a comprehensive program that is currently being developed under the auspices of the Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment (HIE), the Taronga Conservation Society Australia (TCSA), Christmas Island National Park (CINP), CSRIO, and various other partners.

The primary objectives of the program are to assess and combat the CIFF’s apparent precipitous decline.
