It seems every culture has its own tales about bats; some are really spooky while others speak of good fortune and hope. For the Philippines, Halloween is a fitting time to learn about the myths and classic legends of “aswang” creatures, and one in particular named Manananggal whose menacing appearance closely resembles a large fruit bat.
