Although they are now a huge tourist attraction and an integral part of Austin's culture, the 1.5 million bats living under the Congress Avenue bridge in downtown were not always so welcome. This documentary, made by students at the University of Texas, explores the bats' controversial past, the people who fought for their protection, and the integration of these nocturnal creatures into the glorious web of things that "Keep Austin Weird."

Film shot/edited by: Ira Perez, Sarah Mohkamkar, & Khat Bell
