A Kid, a Cave and a Bat Named Pinta

Bats and their benefits have a big role in a new children’s book by Rachael Long, Farm Advisor at the University of California Cooperative Extension in Yolo County. A long-time friend of BCI, the author has published important research on bats’ contributions to agriculture. Gold Fever, the first installment of Long’s planned Black Rock Desert Trilogy, will be officially released December 4, but it is available now online. This engaging story introduces youngsters to the world of bats, and BCI will receive some of the proceeds from its sales.
