Bat Biologists Wanted

BHE Environmental, Inc., an environmental consulting and engineering company providing services nationwide, has openings in our Cincinnati office for bat biologists.

Temporary and full-time positions may be available.
Applicant must be able to accurately identify bats and trees of the eastern and central U.S. (experience with M. sodalis preferred), read aerial photos and topographic maps, and adapt to variable working conditions. Experience with habitat evaluation, mist-netting and acoustic surveys (e.g. ANABAT) is required, radiotelemetry experience is preferred.  Responsibilities include leading teams during acoustic and mist net surveys; collecting, managing, and analyzing data, and technical writing.  Applicants must have a valid driver's license and have received rabies pre-exposure vaccinations or be willing to obtain a vaccination. Possession of a Federal Scientific Collecting Permit, or experience sufficient to be added to a permit for handling endangered bats is a plus.  This position requires frequent travel in the summer and early fall. Potential for professional advancement exist will be encouraged.
