The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service just released the draft framework for a coordinated WNS national plan. It is available for public comment and review here. According to the USFWS, preliminary data indicate that the population of endangered Indiana bats in the Northeast Region dropped 30 percent from 2007 to 2009. Most of this mortality is attributed directly to WNS. Read more about WNS here. |
