The four-star rating, Charity Navigator says, ‘indicates that your organization excels, as compared to other charities in America,’ emphasizing that BCI, unlike many nonprofits, devotes a very healthy 86.5 percent of its operating budget to programs and services that fulfill its mission. Charity Navigator is one of the largest independent evaluators of charities in the United States.

Our heartfelt thanks go to our loyal members who, in response to economic hard times, gave 31 percent more than usual in our fall giving campaign. Yet BCI is facing the most financially stressful time in its history because of the falling stock market and its devastating impact on foundation giving.
