A HOMEOWNER'S GUIDE TO MASSACHUSETTS BATS & BAT PROBLEMS
Thomas W. French, James E. Cardoza and Gwilym S. Jones
Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, 1986. 18 pp.
(Available from: Division of Fisheries and Wildlife; Leverett Saltonstall Bldg.; 100 Cambridge Street; Boston, MA 02202)

The authors place public fear of bats in perspective, noting that most are highly beneficial, while providing a useful guide to dealing with the occasional surprise visitor or unwanted colony in a wall or attic. The booklet also includes a key to the State's nine species of bats.
