The dark-nosed small-footed myotis is a widespread insectivorous bat that ranges across western North America, from central Mexico to British Columbia, Canada. It had been considered a subspecies of Myotis ciliolabrum until about 2008, when it was upgraded to a species. Relatively little data is available on the dark-nosed small-footed myotis.

These small bats are typically found in conifer forests and other habitats that receive moderate moisture. They hibernate from about November until April in caves and abandoned mines.
