Wish List

Your help with any of the following special needs would greatly increase our effectiveness. To make a donation, or for more information, please call Bob Benson at BCI, (512) 327-9721, ext. 27.

With 23 employees, BCI's single office copier is being pushed to its limits. A second copier is badly needed to prevent excessive wear and to keep up with the demands of our busy office. Donations to help defray the cost of a new Minolta 2050 photocopy machine or similar model would make all the difference toward reaching this goal ($6,240).

Field Equipment
BCI's workshop and program leaders restate their need for a pair of PVS-7B Night-Vision Goggles. These amazing goggles make darkness look like daylight, allowing easy navigation and unimpaired observation of bats. They are needed not only for surveying bats in caves and mines, but also for workshop demonstrations. Your contribution in any amount would be a tremendous help ($2,895).

Camera Gear
A shortage of camera equipment continues to plague BCI's field staff. With as many as five biologists afield at once, our gear is in constant use, and we rarely have enough lenses, flashes, and other critical parts to ensure everyone can adequately document their work. We would greatly appreciate donations to cover the cost of a new Canon 28-80 zoom lens and two 540EZ flashes ($960 total).

Thank you
BCI thanks Joe Ferrari of White Plains, NY, for donating two camera tripods; Glen Haig of Wall, NJ, for a video camcorder package; the Kiser family of Decatur, GA, for a circular saw; and Bill and Carol Haber of Westport, CT, for all the audiovisual, camera, and GPS equipment requested in our last wish list.
