A bridge to come home to

The Congress Avenue bridge in Austin, Texas is home to an estimated 750,000 Mexican free-tailed bats (Tadarida brasiliensis) each spring through fall. It is now one of the most popular tourist attractions in the capital city, drawing visitors from all over the world who gather along the riverfront to see the evening emergence of the bats (story, page 4).
