Action In Progress

Dr. Leslie Hall, a recently appointed member of BCI's Scientific Advisory Board (Department of Anatomy, University of Queensland, St. Lucia, Queensland 4067, Australia), is coordinating the campaign to reinstate protection of Queensland's flying foxes. The Australian and North American Mammal Societies have registered a formal protest to the Queensland Ministry. BCI has contacted prominent government officials and sent news releases to most of Australia's newspapers and broadcasting networks. The media has given encouraging coverage, and Australians are beginning to voice their outrage. Fortunately, there is already an enlightened and highly motivated conservation movement in Australia. Nevertheless, they urgently need your assistance.
