Educational Programs in Progress

The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service recently approved funding whereby BCI will produce a half-hour slide program on bats and their conservation needs. The program will emphasize U.S. bats and their endangerment. Two hundred slide sets and accompanyi ng cassettes have been ordered for their public education programs, and BCI will produce similar programs for purchase by anyone interested in promoting conservation of bats. These should be available by early 1984. We especially thank Dr. Don Wilson, Ch ief, Museum Section, Denver Wildlife Research, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, for his assistance in making this possible.

Our next slide/cassette program will deal with bats worldwide, their value and conservation needs. A proposal has been submitted, and production will begin as soon as funds are received.
