Bats in the News

For perhaps the first time ever, bats seem to be receiving nearly as much good press as bad. Articles generated by BCI and its members are appearing worldwide. In North America alone, where most bad publicity traditionally has been printed, positive a rticles have appeared in numer ous newspapers since our last newsletter. These include the Wall Street Journal, the Chicago Tribune, the USA Today, the New York Star, the Toronto Star and the Miami Herald. Radio and te levision coverage is also improving, and we have provided live radio interviews to stations as far away as Guam. Major magazine articles include the July/August, 1983 issue of International Wildlife and the January, 1984 issue of the Smithsonia n Magazine.
